Expert meeting could help N-talks make progress
The latest developments on nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 countries were raised in a telephone call between the German foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Friday talked and exchanged views on the phone with Ali Akbar Salehi about Iran's nuclear talks with the 5+1 group and regional developments, IRIB News Agency reported.
The two top diplomats emphasized the need for continuing the nuclear talks until the parties involved could reach tangible results.
Salehi said Iran participated in Moscow talks and offered constructive initiatives, adding the 5+1 group showed the necessary reactions which could set the stage for taking big steps forward.
The two sides then hoped the expert meeting next week in Istanbul could pave the way for the talks to make progress at higher levels.
Moscow talks reached an agreement for Iran and the 5+1 countries to continue their negotiations at an expert level.
